So it is very important to regenerate this file if any add-ons have been significantly adjusted that warrants the need for this file to be regenerated in the first place. If the add-on is adjusted in any way without this file being reset (by being deleted and regenerated by the application), then the original profile.dds’ bow splash/wake positioning will still be adherent to the add-on (in correspondence of the original profile.dds file) despite any changes that were made that exclude this file. Profile.dds is a perspectively right-sided snapshot file of the add-on that is automatically generated by Vehicle Simulator which determines the splash (and probably wake) positioning of the model. Measurements in feet are utilized in Virtual Sailor, for which Vehicle Simulator uses meters hence 1 foot being equivalent to approximately 0.3048 meters and denoting the purpose and presence of the parameter in an add-on’s configuration file. Very rarely however do I ever have to edit this particular parameter for any add-on in fact I’ve only done it one time for one particular add-on. is probably applied automatically by the default value of 0.3048 when it is unspecified in the vehicle configuration, for which is probably why it appears correctly or as sized as such when it is utilized in Vehicle Simulator, though 99% of the add-ons I convert and use myself utilize the scale factor parameter in their vehicle configuration files. I have a couple of boats that were much too large for their stated size and I changed the scale factor to fix them. Everything else I’ve seen is 0.3048 which is set by default when vehicle.cfg is created.
